Community Service

Diane Dobson's community service has been life long - from serving on structured boards and with associations to merely picking up the trash she encounters when walking down the street.  Giving of herself for the benefit of others and the community she lives in is a natural part of life for her.

  • Renton Lions Club (20 year member Renton Lions Club (serving as President twice, Zone Chairman once) part of Lions Club International - the world's largest service organization

  • International Delegate Renton-Nishiwaki Sister City Association (her father co-founded this association nearly 50 years ago)

  • Lions In Sight (including philanthropic trips to 3rd world countries in efforts for vision screening and providing eye glasses & care)
  • Habitat for Humanity (including securing funding and build efforts toward a home for a North Renton resident)

Diane is the only candidate this season who has received the distinguished honor of being recognized as the City of Renton's Citizen of the Year* [2003]  - still standing as the youngest person ever to receive such honor in the City of Renton
